Dr. Haruna Isah is currently a Research Associate, Industry Project Team Lead, and Talent Development Manager at the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC), University of New Brunswick (UNB), Fredericton. He was previously an IBM-SOSCIP Postdoctoral Fellow at the Big-Data Analytics and Management Laboratory of the School of Computing at Queen’s University, Kingston, ON, Canada. He obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science and a Master of Science degree in Software Engineering both from the University of Bradford (UK).

He is:

• An accomplished cybersecurity and data analytics researcher, project lead, instructor, and talent development manager.
• Proficient in AI-based cybersecurity threats analysis and proactive risks mitigation. He also has a deep understanding of machine/deep learning, digital forensics, and analytics/cybersecurity frameworks.
• Experienced in translating complex business problems to manageable projects and tasks. He is an excellent communicator who effectively communicates with peers, management staff, and executives.

He is also highly skilled in:

• Leading and conducting large-scale AI/cybersecurity/analytics projects and communicating key findings to senior management and decision makers.
• Planning and delivering solutions, products, and services in areas such as data and critical infrastructure security, threat hunting and incidence response, and interpretable AI.
• Leading academic-industry collaboration, knowledge transfer, and talent development/acquisition.
